Papiss Demba Cisse - a reported target for Arsenal - has revealed his love for Liverpool, and has his heart set on an eventual move to Anfield.
The Freiburg striker has weighed in with an impressive 17 goals in 23 games so far this season in the Bundesliga and is thought to be the subject of interest from a number of clubs.
It was initially reported by Goal.com that Arsenal were considering a move for the £12 million-rated Frenchman, while the Daily Star has since suggested the Gunners will formalise their interest in the summer.
And, should Arsenal make a move for the 25-year-old when the transfer window reopens, then it has been claimed that a switch to the Emirates Stadium would be something the player would seriously consider.
"There’s no mistaking he’s very happy at Freiburg and he’s under contract until 2014, but Arsenal certainly interests him," a source close to Cisse told Goal.com.
"Freiburg are a great but small club so it's very likely he will go in the summer. And Cisse is worthy of Champions League football, that is what he's aiming for."
However, Cisse appears to spreading himself a bit thin after reportedly stating a move to Liverpool would be a 'dream' come true.
He said: "Liverpool is a dream club. Salif Diao and El Hadji Diouf have played there. But to be honest I am happy here at the moment….But you never know in football. Things can develop quickly.”
Whether Cisse is on the Liverpool radar remains to be seen, but the Anfield club are expected to invest in more potent goalscoring options come June 1.
Liverpool are thought to be pursuing a number of potential summer acquisitions and another busy transfer window at Anfield seemingly beckons.
