Manchester United are tracking reported Arsenal target Ola John, it has been claimed.

The 18-year-old striker has been attracting plenty of attention at FC Twente and is believed to be a target for a number of top European clubs.

According to tribalfootball, United are one of the clubs monitoring the teenager - who is the younger brother of former Fulham forward Collins John - and he is also being watched by Ajax.

But the Dutchman is content at Twente for the time being and claims he is happy to remain at the club.

"I speak to Collins every day. He is proud of me and told me to continue here," revealed John.

"In any case it is too early to go to England and FC Twente is a good club, so why would I want to leave?"

Along with United, Arsenal have also been previously linked with John and are thought to have been keeping a close eye on his progress.

Arsene Wenger is known to be a fan of the development philosophy in Dutch football, hence is understood to be keeping a close eye on any potential Arsenal acquisitions.

The Arsenal boss has even farmed out his latest teenage sensation - Ryo Miyaichi - to aid his progression and John could be the latest youngster to join the famed Gunners academy come the summer.

However, United are still thought to be firmly in the hunt for the Liberia born forward but will face stiff competition on their quest to bring him to Old Trafford.
