An Ashley Barnes goal midway through the second half was enough for npower League One leaders Brighton to beat Oldham 1-0 and open up a seven-point gap on second place Huddersfield.
Barnes' strike was the only effort on goal for Brighton at Boundary Park as the hosts, marooned in midtable dominated proceedings, especially in terms of their attacking endeavour.
