Harry Redknapp has shocked and delighted fans by discussing the possibility of Tottenham winning the Barclays Premier League title, possibly in the next couple of years.
Last year, Spurs qualified for the Champions League for the first time in the history of the club, and Redknapp believes the dream of holding the top flight trophy is now a reality at White Hart Lane.
“I’ve said I aim to win the league. Whether people believe it I don’t know. They might think I’m mad but I think it’s possible,” Redknapp told reporters.
"I don't think the other big clubs have got anything that Spurs don't have."
Tottenham currently sit fifth on the table, 14 points behind title leaders Manchester United. While the possibility of Spurs challenging for a trophy seems a little ambitious on Redknapp’s part, stranger things have happened in football.
"If I do win one it will be a bit of a miracle, won't it? I think if I did then I'd probably retire,” the legendary manager joked.
“But I do think it is possible. If we can go and get a couple of Luka Modrics, people like that. We've got to believe we can achieve anything here."
