Megson in hunt for keeper

Published Add your comment

Sheffield Wednesday boss Gary Megson is looking to secure a goalkeeper on loan after first-choice Nicky Weaver sustained a groin injury.

The Owls are also without number two Arron Jameson, who has been sidelined for five matches with a pelvic problem.

Richard O'Donnell made his Wednesday debut in the 2-0 defeat at Southampton, but Megson hopes to bring in further cover for Weaver. Megson said: "He'll be out for a minimum of four weeks, a maximum, hopefully, of six weeks."

He added: "We're left with only one senior goalkeeper, so we have to try to find somebody to come in.

"Nicky's form has been ok. It's disappointing to lose him, because he's our senior goalkeeper. He's a great lad and he's Wednesday through and through."
