Luka Modric has perhaps gone relatively unnoticed at times for Tottenham this season thanks to the dazzling performances of Gareth Bale and Rafael van der Vaart.
However, the fleet-footed Croatian has been in sparkling form himself - enjoying arguably his finest season in a Spurs shirt so far.
With his rare blend of steely determination and midfield artistry, the 25-year-old has been the driving force for Spurs in the absence of Bale and Van der Vaart - and his performances have caught the eye of some high-profile admirers.
Former Tottenham and Liverpool midfielder - and son of Spurs boss Harry - Jamie Redknapp has been awestruck by Modric this season and believes the Croatia international is primed with a clash against Real Madrid on the horizon.
"I watched Tottenham’s draw with West Ham on Saturday and I make no apologies for talking about Luka Modric again. He’s a magnificent player," wrote the Sky Sports pundit in the Daily Mail.
"It’s worth the entrance fee just to watch him slalom through tackles, play passes and pinch possession. He’s up there with the best, a mixture of Scholes and Fabregas. I hope he shows that against Real Madrid."
Harry Redknapp has also reserved special praise for Modric - claiming the diminutive playmaker is 'on another planet'.
“Luka’s incredible. He’s on another planet. You think teams have got good players until you see them play against him and you realise he’s on another level." he said.
“Absolutely top drawer. He’s a fantastic player and a fantastic boy. I could sit and watch him play all day.”
