Halford wants to head to Portsmouth 'permanently'

Wolves loanee Greg Halford wants to sign for Portsmouth on a permanent basis.

The defender is currently on loan with Pompey until the end of the season and has only one year left on his contract at Molineux.

"I would definitely like to be a part of things here," he told The News.

"Everyone wants to be in a winning team and we are winning at the moment. We'll have to see what happens with regard to that at the end of the season.

"There hasn't been any conversations really to that extent. I guess it depends on Wolves.

"I still have a year after this one there, so I guess it's down to what they want fee-wise. It's down to whether they want to let me go but it looks like that is more imminent than anything."
