£40 million French strikeforce ‘next Carroll’

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is planning to spend the £35 million from Andy Carroll’s sale to Liverpool on Lille strikers Moussa Sow and Gervinho, according to the Metro.

Sow is currently top scorer in Ligue 1, with 19 goals so far this season, and the Lille striker is seen as the perfect replacement for Carroll’s up front position.

Meanwhile, Lille strike partner Gervinho can play in either the wing or front positions, making him doubly valuable to Newcastle, and according to speculation, well worth the money.

Metro is reporting that Pardew is willing to spend £40 million to bring the pair to Newcastle, with Sow out of contract in 2013 and Gervinho ready to sign a big money deal while he’s still young.
