Ipswich’s star striker Connor Wikham is not planning on making any moves to the big clubs just yet, and is concentrating on getting Ipswich promoted, according to the striker.
“To be that highly-rated is amazing, but all I can do is keep working hard on my football,” Wikham told the Metro.
“I am signed to Ipswich for the next few years, and I am concentrating on that.
“I want to work hard for Ipswich and get them to the Premier League. Hopefully we can do that.”
Ipswich currently sit at 15th on the npower Championship table, and are 11 points shy of the play offs for promotion.
Wikham has been linked to Liverpool on a number of occasions, as well as Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United.
Ipswich chairman Marcus Evans put the ambitious price tag of £15 million over Wikham’s head, according to the Journal.
Top flight clubs like Liverpool certainly have the money to splash around for a player with such potential, and with Wikham drawing comparisons to Andy Carroll for his skill at such a young age, Ipswich may not be able to say no to what Liverpool have on offer.
