Peterborough missed the chance to leapfrog Huddersfield into the npower League One promotion places as they were held to a 2-2 draw at Bristol Rovers.
Jo Kuffour put Rovers ahead after six minutes and Posh needed a 23rd-minute Byron Anthony own goal to level.
George Boyd then put the visitors ahead eight minutes into the second half but the lead lasted just four minutes before Jeff Hughes levelled.
That result could have allowed MK Dons to overtake Peterborough, but they too were restricted to a draw, 1-1 against Walsall.
It could have been worse for the Dons, who fell behind to Matthew Richards' goal after 29 minutes, but levelled thanks to Peter Leven's penalty in the 51st minute.
A frantic final quarter saw Brentford beat Carlisle 2-1.
A tedious first 70 minutes was consigned to memory when goals from Jeffery Schlupp in the 74th and 83rd minutes put the hosts ahead, before Lubomir Michalik responded two minutes from time.
Goals from Gary Jones (23) and Craig Dawson (56) saw Rochdale win 2-0 at Hartlepool.
