Pair step up promotion push

Wycombe and Stevenage stepped up their npower League Two promotion bids with comfortable away victories.

Scott Rendell scored twice, once from the penalty spot, as second-placed Wanderers defeated Morecambe 3-0. Veteran Gareth Ainsworth was the other scorer.

Mark Roberts and Robert Sinclair also bagged braces for Stevenage, 4-0 winners against Macclesfield while Bury drew 0-0 with Port Vale.

Bottom club Stockport kept their slim hopes of avoiding relegation alive with a 2-1 victory against Southend.

Danny Rowe scored the winner in injury time after Kyle Asante had cancelled out the opening penalty from Greg Tansey.

In the other early kick-off Darren Jones equalised for Aldershot in the 1-1 draw with Accrington after Rory Boulding had opened the scoring.
