Tottenham are reportedly chasing Lyon winger Michel Bastos.
The Brazil international has frequently been linked with a move away from Stade de Gerland after a number of swashbuckling displays in Ligue 1, with Juventus and Arsenal said to be among his admirers.
Now, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Spurs have 'made enquiries' about the 27-year-old as they already make moves in the transfer market prior to the window reopening in June.
Tribalfootball.com reports that Spurs are targeting Bastos as a potential replacement for Gareth Bale, who has been tipped to leave White Hart Lane in the summer.
The Welshman is said to be the subject of interest from Manchester United, Barcelona and Inter Milan and a summer bidding war for his signature is seemingly set to ensue.
Bale, however, has pledged his future to Spurs by signing a new contract which will keep him at White Hart Lane until 2015.
