Latics and Spurs play out stalemate

Tottenham looked out of sorts ahead of their Champions League meeting with Real Madrid on Tuesday and had to settle for 0-0 draw at Wigan.

The home side could have clinched victory and eased their relegation worries in the process three minutes from time.

Latics' best chance came when Connor Sammon was released by fellow substitute Mohamed Diame but sent his shot straight at goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.
