Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli has revealed a sense of optimism at Anfield since Fenway Sports Group took over in October.
"I share the fans' optimism because the owners said things when they arrived and stuck to their words in January," Comolli told LFC Weekly.
"They have shown their commitment and their backing and everything they have said they will do, they have done.”
January signings Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez have given Liverpool fans a brighter outlook, with Suarez making an immediate impact, particularly in the Manchester United derby, and Carroll showing plenty of potential. And speculation of more signings this summer will reassure Liverpool fans that the owners are willing to invest in the club.
"I never had any doubts about that but I think for the fans it has given them re-assurance that the owners will stick to their words and that they are ambitious,” Comolli said.
"When you talk to John Henry and ask him what his plans are for the club, the only thing he says is: 'I want to win.'
“When that's the starting point, everybody has to make sure that everything we do is geared in that direction. That's the bottom line."
Liverpool will no doubt be aiming to achieve Champions League glory once more, and with a fresh attitude and new players and management, the atmosphere surrounding Merseyside looks to be one of hope for a successful future.
