Brentford skipper Kevin O'Connor has backed Nicky Forster to land the full-time manager's job at Griffin Park - despite being dropped by the caretaker boss at Wembley.
The long-serving midfielder was denied the chance to lead the team out in Sunday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy final and only came on as a late substitute as the Bees lost 1-0 to Carlisle. Forster replaced Andy Scott in February and will continue in the role until the end of the season following an upturn in the club's fortunes.
And O'Connor said: "All I know is that he is my manager until the end of the season but he has done terrifically well. If he did stay it would be welcomed by everyone, particularly if things keep going the way they are."
