Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic is aiming for an away goal when United take on Chelsea in the Champions League quarter finals, despite Chelsea being favourites to win.
Vidic admitted that Chelsea have been in better form recently, and were superior in their last match up with Manchester United, telling reporters: “The last few games, they had good results.
“But this is the Champions League and we have to score a goal - this is the name of the game for us. It helps for the next game.”
Vidic admitted to some problems in the United line up, despite coming back from 2-0 down to win 4-2 against West Ham on the weekend.
“The defending part, we need to improve a bit more and we'll be all right,” Vidic said.
“We're not going to relax, we know we're playing against a good side, especially at home.
“They're an experienced team, they have experienced players.”
Manchester United haven’t won at Chelsea for a staggering nine years. But Vidic believes this hasn’t reflected the quality of performances from the Red Devils.
"Our performances at Chelsea in the last two or three years have been really good," the Manchester United defender said.
"We have played some good football but in the end, we didn't get good results. Now I am thinking we should play badly and win."
