QPR skipper Adel Taarabt is to undergo a scan to try to solve a mystery stomach problem.

The 15-goal midfielder had barely trained all week but still managed 70 minutes of Monday night's 3-0 win over Sheffield United - his first appearance for Rangers since hearing the news his cousin had been shot dead.

"He wasn't going to play Monday morning or on Sunday," revealed manager Neil Warnock. "He trained on Thursday and then he had terrible stomach pains and we can't find anything so he's going for a scan - but he said he wanted to play."

He added: "I told him I didn't want him to but he wanted to, and I thought he was good in the circumstances.

"He was a threat in the first half, he kept the ball and made some great, simple passes."
