Jose Bosingwa vs Nani
With David Luiz ineligible, Bosingwa is expected to fill in in the Chelsea defence, and the Portuguese defender will be comfronted with his international colleague on the right hand side.
Nani has had his most productive season since moving to England, with nine goals and 16 assists in the Premier League. Bosingwa's undoing might be his willingness to beget forward, while Nani, not one for tracking back in his own half, will relish the opportunity to take advantage.
Michael Essien vs Michael Carrick
The contrast in styles between these two players could lead to a fascinating battle in the middle of midfield. Carrick is enjoying some of his best form in a Manchester United shirt in the wake of Darren Fletcher's illness.
Essien's strength in midfield may certainly be a problem for Carrick, who precision passing and calmness in possession will be crucial for United at a ground where they've lost there cool many times. He may not be bale to compete with the the England international in terms of passing ability, but he'll be keen to break up any United attack.
Fernando Torres vs Nemanja Vidic
In the red of Liverpool, Torres would terrorise Vidic to the extent that the reputation of the Serbian defender, pristine since his move to United, was in tatters.
However, the Spaniard hasn't looked the same since his move from Anfield and Vidic marshalled the forward well in their recent meeting in the league.
Vidic may have strength on his side, but Torres has pace in abundance and when faced with goal, a proposition he's rarely been confronted with since joining the Blues, he possesses a deadly finish.
