Everton midfielder Leon Osman is keen for his side to beat Liverpool to the final Europa League spot.
The Toffees lie just four points behind sixth placed Liverpool in the Barclays Premier League and still harbour ambitions of finishing in a Europa League spot.
If an English side wins the Champions league then sixth spot will be good enough for a place in Europe, and Osman says his side can overtake Liverpool in the race for sixth.
“Of course it would be good to overtake Liverpool," he said.
“But when we were ninth in the table we were looking at getting the points to overtake the side in eighth, and then the same for moving to seventh.
“Now it’s Liverpool above us but we’re not looking at it any differently.
“You go into the league hoping to be in and around Europe at the end of the season, but there’s no point over-thinking it.
“We’ve got it right now and bit by bit we’re getting closer.”
Osman's side travel to Wolves this weekend before taking on Lancashire duo Blackburn Rovers and Manchester United.
