Chelsea v Manchester United
UEFA Champions League quarter-final, first leg
Stamford Bridge
ITV1, 7.45pm kick-off

Chelsea welcome Manchester United tonight in this year’s first, all-English encounter in the Champions League quarter final, first-leg clash.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have not won at Stamford Bridge in nine years, and will be looking to avenge the 2-1 league defeat they suffered there just five weeks ago.

Rio Ferdinand is back in training and could return to partner Nemanja Vidic in defence, while Wayne Rooney has shaken off a knock picked up last weekend and is set to start.

Carlo Ancelotti has a fully fit Chelsea squad to pick from, leaving the Blues boss with a selection headache in the form of who to partner Nicolas Anelka up front – either Fernando Torres or Didier Drogba.

“We know we must play against a fantastic team but we have confidence to do our best,” said Ancelotti ahead of his 100th game in charge of Chelsea.

David Luiz remains ineligible having already featured for Benfica in this season’s competition.
