Bristol Rovers are sweating on the fitness of Will Hoskins and Gary Sawyer ahead of Exeter's visit to the Memorial Stadium.

Hoskins suffered an ankle injury in the 1-0 midweek victory over Bournemouth and the 17-goal former Watford striker will be assessed ahead of the game.

Sawyer returned to training this week after recovering from a groin injury and will also be the subject of a late fitness test.

Tuesday's win over promotion-chasing Bournemouth, courtesy of Jeff Hughes' first-half spot-kick, moved Rovers out of the npower League Two relegation zone for the first time since December.

"We've done the hard work, getting out of the bottom four, it's just staying out of there now," said assistant boss Craig Hinton on the club's official website.

"I think confidence is high at the moment and I hope we take that into Saturday."

Troy Archibald-Henville and Liam Sercombe are expected to shake off minor injuries in time for Exeter.

Archibald-Henville missed last Saturday's dramatic 2-1 win over Dagenham with a knee problem, while Sercombe was also not risked as he was carrying an ankle complaint.

"I imagine both Liam and Troy will be fit for Saturday," said Grecians boss Paul Tisdale in the Express and Echo. "I could have pushed them both into playing last weekend, I'm sure they could have done if they'd had to, but it wasn't worth it."

Marcus Stewart has confirmed he will retire after the clash with his former club.

The 38-year-old will bring the curtain down on an illustrious career which has seen him score 254 goals in 782 games.
