Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini expects a tough evening when his side visit Liverpool on Monday.
Both sides are vying for a European spot, with City currently third in the Barclays Premier League after thrashing Sunderland last weekend.
Liverpool lost just their second league match under temporary manager Kenny Dalglish last Saturday against West Bromwich Albion, and Mancini says The Reds are a different proposition when playing at Anfield.
"Liverpool is a strong team for me a very strong team. It is a strong team when they play at home. I think that it will be a very hard game but we want to win in Liverpool," he said.
"It will be important to win because it is important for the champions league and if we want to try and get to third position or second position so this is why it is important that we try to get the win at Anfield but if we want to win we should play well like against Sunderland."
City have their eyes fixed on second place in the league, while their Merseyside opponents are just five points behind fifth placed Tottenham Hotspur with seven games still to play.
