Want-away Roma winger Jeremy Menez has added to speculation he will leave the Serie A side this summer by declaring he has 'no idea' what the future holds.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has scored just two goals in 29 appearances for La Maggica this season, a poor return for the promising playmaker.
Since taking over the reigns from Claudio Ranieri, current Roma boss Vincenzo Montella has tended to overlook Menez for the first team, instead opting to use him sparingly from the bench, much to the player’s annoyance.
Menez was also recently involved in a disagreement with his coach after the recent 2-0 league defeat to Juventus, but has since held clear-the-air talks.
However, the incident has only added to speculation that the French international will leave at the end of the season.
Speaking to the Italian press last week, Menez explained, "I have cleared things with Montella, everything is fine now," as reported by Goal.com.
But when asked whether his relationship with the Lupi was to be prolonged beyond June, he added: "Will my relationship with Roma continue? I don't know."
Caughtoffside.com report that Liverpool have been monitoring the player's situation, with Reds boss Kenny Dalglish contemplating an offer to bring him to Anfield this summer.
Liverpool Director of Football Damien Comolli is familiar with Menez's talents due to his links with the French international set-up and is rumoured to be keen on striking a deal.
Dalglish has made no secret of his desire to add wide attacking options in the summer, causing Liverpool to be linked with a host of players in recent months.
Ashley Young has been consistently linked with a move to Anfield, but the Reds face serious competition for his signature from Barclays Premier League rivals Manchester United.
Menez could be an easier option for Liverpool to pursue, and having been described as a two-footed technically skilled playmaker with undeniable pace, he looks to be exactly what the Merseyside club are looking for.
