Tranmere boss Les Parry has revealed that Sunderland duo Michael Kay and Robbie Weir have agreed to join the club on a permanent basis this summer.

The pair, both currently on loan from the Stadium of Light, are expected to sign during the close season.

Parry told Tranmere Player: "We've negotiated with both players and they'll sign on the 1st of July."

He added: "We've got an agreement with both of them and they'll be great additions to our squad.

"They've had to establish themselves quickly, especially Michael with Timothy [Cathalina] getting injured and Scott Wootton going back to Manchester United. He's come in and done a good job for us.

"Robbie is Mr Versatile. He can do a job for us in a number of positions."
