Arsenal kept their Barclays Premier League title hopes alive with a 3-1 win over Blackpool yesterday, but Manchester United maintain a seven point lead at the top of the table after a straigthforward 2-0 win over Fulham on Saturday.

Chelsea are now 11 points behind the leaders after a 1-0 win over Wigan lifted them into third place, while Tottenham boosted their chances of Champions League qualification with a narrow win against Stoke.

Elsewhere, Bolton's emphatic 3-0 victory over West Ham leaves the Hammers just one point off the bottom after two goals from Daniel Sturridge and a header fro Chung-Yong Lee secured victory.

Also at the bottom, Aston Villa grabbed a vital three points from Newcastle while West Brom moved away from the danger zone with a narrow win at the Stadium of Light.


Blackburn and Birmingham had the share the spoils at Ewood Park, while Everton left Wolves deep in the mire after a convincing 3-0 win.

In other news, Manchester City face Liverpool tonight at Anfield as the former looks to secure a spot in the top four.

Stan Kroenke has launched a full takeover bid of Arsenal after increasing his shareholding, while Chelsea's Yossi Benayoun claims the Champions League is theirs if they beat Manchester United on Tuesday.
