Everton starlet Apostolos Vellios has told reporters he chose Everton over Fulham and Aston Villa, and is happy with his choice to head to the Toffees this year.

"I was so impressed and I feel very good here,” the 19 year old Everton forward said.

"I had offers from Aston Villa and Fulham and a lot of clubs in Greece like Olympiakos and AEK, but here was the best choice."

Vellios has scored seven goals in 14 appearances for Everton this season, after arriving from Greek club Iraklis this year.

Playing alongside youngster Jack Rodwell, who is currently a target for Manchester United, is also giving Vellios pointers on being a top young player and making the most of his potential.

Manchester United and Everton have a long history of transfers for youngsters, with Wayne Rooney the most prominent example of a player leaving Merseyside for the English giants, so Vellios is in good company to become a star and play for a club like Manchester United yet.

But for now, the wonderkid is just pleased to be in the Barclays Premier League.

“The Premier League was my number one choice and as soon as I came here to Everton, saw the stadium, the training ground and met with the players and coach I knew this was the place for me,” the youngster said.
