Arsene Wenger met with prospective new owner Stan Kroenke today, and the two discussed title hopes as well as the future of the club.
“I am aware of the offer but you will appreciate that the takeover is subject to various rules and as such I can’t comment further,” Wenger said.
"I think I have a responsibility to bring success to the team, to be consistent at the top and to manage the club well.
“For me it is important as well that everybody inside the Club does what they are responsible for.”
Wenger stressed that the run in to the end of the season is of the upmost importance to the Arsenal manager, and only after the season has ended and the title fought out will they discuss signing new players and the long term future of the club.
"My focus will be on ensuring the team has a successful run in to the end to the season. We have a lot to play for,” Wenger said.
The wheels are in motion for Kroenke to take the remaining shares in Arsenal, though he is currently facing hurdles from the Arsenal Supporters Trust and current shareholder Alisher Usmanov.
