Southend winger Ryan Hall has signed a new two-year contract at the club.

The 23-year-old, who has made 31 starts this season, has been in impressive form and has been rewarded with a deal which sees him stay at Roots Hall until 2013.

"Ryan has done very well this season," said boss Paul Sturrock on Southend's official website.

"He has had his problems off the pitch, but on it he has really developed as the season has gone on.

"I'm really pleased to have got him tied down for the next two seasons.

"Hopefully next year he can build on the potential he has already shown."
