In a Champions League final that is currently little more than a pipe dream, not only will Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho be facing off, but superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will be facing his old teammates.

"I want to play Manchester United," Real Madrid forward Ronaldo said.

"If you ask me if I want to sign up to play for Real Madrid against Manchester United in the final at Wembley then of course I will.

“That would make me very, very happy. I've still got a lot of friends there, memories, and I'd love that to happen.

"I had six great years there."

Real Madrid face Barclona in the semi final of the Champions League, will Manchester United take on Schalke. Both games will be hard fought out victories for the big clubs, and Ronaldo says it feels like Real Madrid still have a hurdle to jump before they think about finals opponents.

"The final seems a very long way in the future," he said.

And with Barcelona defeating Real Madrid 5-0 earlier in the season, Ronaldo isn’t running scared from taking the derby bragging rights back.

"I don't like the word revenge,” Ronaldo said, in regards to hitting back after the battering.

“At the moment, we are the best two teams in the world.

“It will make everyone in the world sit up and watch the game. We have improved and we have to believe we can do it."
