Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed he will have his best squad, less suspended striker Wayne Rooney, for the derby clash with Manchester City in the FA Cup Semi Final.
“Everyone is fit from the other night,” Ferguson said.
“We’re missing Wayne obviously which is the only downside.
“We’ve got a strong squad – our bench the other night reflect that.
Darren Fletcher is recovering from illness, and Ferguson said he is still around three weeks away from returning to United.
“’Fletch’ is back in training although he’s not doing a lot. He’s put weight back on which is good. He’s still a couple of weeks away.”
Manchester United seem to have the midas touch at the moment, shining in the Barclays Premier League as well as taking out Chelsea in both legs of the Champions League quarter final. It seems that now is the best time for the Manchester United to take on City, and Ferguson is looking forward to it.
“It should be an exciting game,” the Manchester United manager said.
“We go into it with great confidence, we’re playing well and we’re ready for it.”
But Ferguson stopped short of underestimating his opponents.
"City have a strong squad and they've got plenty of experience. You have to play well to win at Wembley.”
