Everton manager David Moyes was full of praise for Leon Osman after the midfielder inspired the Merseysiders to victory over Blackburn Rovers.
Osman opened the scoring for the hosts before his flicked to Seamus Colman being fouled which led to the Toffees doubling their lead from the penalty spot.
Moyes says a player of Osman's kind has been deeply missed from the Everton side.
"I thought Osman was terrific today, we needed him because we've lacked that sort of flair since Steven Pienaar's gone," he said.
"We've missed that creativity and I thought Osman done all that and more today. He never led the line up front. He got the ball in the middle of the park, he made things happen and he scored a really good goal as well."
"I thought we played well, we certainly got better in the second half and played better. I didn't think we did that bad in the first half. i know some of our passes went astray we need to play a little bit quicker but I thought overall it was a worthy three points."
