Didier Drogba could be set for a move to Tottenham, after Harry Redknapp made his intentions to snag the striker clear, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Redknapp has reportedly been told by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy that Spurs can challenge for the title next season if they invest money into a striker, central midfielder and central defender. And Chelsea striker Drogba fills Rednapp’s boxes for the perfect addition to the Tottenham squad.

Drogba is currently the second top scorer for Chelsea, behind Nicolas Anelka. This is quite a good feat for the striker, considering he hasn’t been guaranteed a place in the squad since Chelsea completed their £50 million purchase of Fernando Torres in January.

Drogba has reportedly been unhappy with Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti over his more common position on the bench for the Blues, and should Tottenham offer the right money and guarantee that the Ivory Coast star be given a starting place on the squad, Drogba looks hard pressed to say no to the deal.

Redknapp has made his intentions to win the Barclays Premier League title abundantly clear, telling reporters: “We have a good squad. I wouldn’t be saying it if we had a bad group of players. I’m not silly. I’m a realist. I’m not dreaming. It’s difficult, but not impossible [to win the title].’’

And with Chelsea’s Drogba on his side, the sky appears to be the limit for the flamboyant manager.
