Highly rated Chelsea defender Ben Sampayo is a summer transfer target for League One side Brentford according to the Hounslow Chronicle.

The 18-year-old right back has already spent time training at Griffin Park, and newly-appointed Bees boss Nicky Forster is contemplating an offer for the Dagenham-born youngster.

Sampayo has come through the ranks at Stamford Bridge, having signed for Chelsea at a young age, he is now developing into a promising talent, with the blistering speedster tipped for a bright future.

Having featured for the Chelsea U18 side in this season's FA Youth Cup, Sampayo was recalled for Blues duty when he made a substitute appearance in last weekend's semi final first leg victory over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Under the guidance of Chelsea coach Dermot Drummy, and the watchful eye of the onlooking Roman Abramovich, the Blues ran out 3-2 winners and take a slight advantage into the return fixture at Old Trafford tonight.

Speaking ahead of the game, Drummy said, "A Chelsea youth side has gone there and won before, and I wouldn't call it an intimidating atmosphere for a youth game.

"But being where so many great games have taken place is a fantastic experience for the boys."
