Manchester City defender Micah Richards is a summer target for Arsenal, it has been claimed.
According to the People, the 22-year-old is on the radar of the north Londoners as they look to bolster their defence when the transfer window opens.
Liverpool have previously been linked with Richards, with Skysports.com reporting the Anfield club tabled a bid of £20 million for his services in January.
However, it would now appear that Liverpool will have to contend with Arsenal, should they formalise their interest at the end of the season.
A versatile defender, able to operate at full-back or in the centre, Richards has reportedly been identified by Arsene Wenger as someone with the potential to reinforce the Arsenal backline.
Arsenal are currently short on senior centre-halfs, with only the Laurent Koscielny, Johan Djourou, Sebastien Squillaci and the injured Thomas Vermaelen among their current crop.
The acquisition of another defender is thought to be high on Wenger's agenda, and Arsenal are also reportedly chasing Paris Saint-Germain's Mamadou Sakho and Gary Cahill of Bolton.
