Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Brazilian full-back Rafinha in their pursuit of defensive reinforcements.
According to Record, the north London club have dispatched chief scout Steve Rowley to file a report on the €10 million-rated defender, who joined Serie A side Genoa from Schalke last summer.
Tribalfootball.com intimates that Arsenal have identified the 25-year-old as a potential replacement for Emmanuel Eboue, who is seemingly set to leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season after testing the patience of Arsene Wenger.
Metro claims the Arsenal boss is prepared to ship out the Ivory Coast international during the transfer window after his gaffe against Liverpool cost the Gunners two precious points.
Eboue has been tipped to leave Arsenal for Tottenham, should he made available, with Spurs also contenders in the race for Rafinha.
After Spurs' interest was initially revealed earlier this year, the Londrina-born right-back expressed his desire to move to England - as well as his interest in joining Tottenham in particular.
"Of course I’d love to play in England so I’m glad to hear about Tottenham showing an interest in me," he told The South American Football Show in association with The Independent.
"I watch Tottenham’s games and they look like a great team, they also have two Brazilian players there already. It would be a pleasure for me to play there. However, I’m also happy here in Genoa.
"If a concrete offer came through from Tottenham I’d be glad, but I’m also happy here. In the end it shows I’m playing well if an important team like I Tottenham is interested so that’s a great feeling."
