Nottingham Forest welcome back Chris Cohen from suspension but lose Paul Konchesky to a ban for the visit of East Midlands rivals Leicester.
Midfielder Cohen is available after completing a three-match absence following his controversial red card in the defeat at Leeds this month.
On-loan defender Konchesky must serve a one-match suspension after he was sent off during the defeat to Norwich last week.
With doubts surrounding the fitness of Joel Lynch (thigh), Julian Bennett, Cohen or Chris Gunter may be asked to fill in for Konchesky at left-back.
Kris Boyd is expected to be fit, despite limping off at Carrow Road, while fellow striker Robbie Findley could come into contention for his debut after a full week`s training.
Victory over their play-off rivals on Friday would move Forest back into the top six at the expense of Leeds, who do not host Reading until later that evening.
Leicester will be without Sol Bamba when they make the short trip across the East Midlands.
The defender faces a fortnight on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury during the defeat to Reading last weekend.
He and striker Martyn Waghorn, who also has a hamstring problem, are the only absentees.
The Foxes have six players on loan but only five can be used in the matchday squad so boss Sven-Goran Eriksson must choose one from Jeffrey Bruma, Patrick Van Aanholt, Yakubu, Ben Mee, Diomansy Kamara and Kyle Naughton to sit it out.
Manchester City defender Mee did so at the Madejski Stadium.
Anything but a victory would all-but end Leicester`s chances of finishing in the top six.
