Italian international right-back Christian Maggio is a summer transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur according to the player's agent.
The Napoli defender has been in scintillating form for the second placed Serie A side this season, and has attracted the attention of a number of potential suitors.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is rumoured to be in the market for a new right-back following a training ground bust-up with Alan Hutton which will likely result in his summer move away from White Hart Lane.
The inconsistent form of Vedran Corluka has also become a cause of concern for the Spurs boss, who has identified Maggio as the possible solution to his problem position.
Reports in Italy suggest that the 29-year-old will be the subject of an enquiry from Tottenham when the transfer window reopens in June, after Maggio's representative Massimo Briaschi told an Italian radio station:
"Maggio is appreciated both abroad and in Italy. After all, he does play in a special position.
"Tottenham have looked at Maggio this season. We're waiting for a sign from the club.
"We said we would meet again with the directors, but nothing else came of it."
With three goals and four assists in 28 league appearances for Napoli this campaign, it is clear to see why Spurs are interested in the creative full back, who also poses a strong attacking threat.
Despite being under contract until June 2013, Maggio could move to White Hart Lane this summer if he isn't offered improved terms with Napoli, and Tottenham will be more than happy to take him off their hands.
