Wycombe earn battling draw at Torquay: Match Review

Published Add your comment

Wycombe kept Torquay at arm's length in the automatic promotion race as the two sides battled out a 0-0 draw.

Chris Zebroski looked to add to his 11 goals this season with an early strike which Nikki Bull did well to save with his feet.

And the visitors had a chance to take the lead just before half-time but Kevin Betsy hooked his effort past the post.

After the break it was the hosts who shifted up a gear, with imposing defender Guy Branston heading Kevin Nicholson's corner against the post from 12 yards out.

Craig Stanley blasted an ambitious volley over the bar from the edge of the box as the Gulls piled on the pressure.

But the Chairboys' defence held firm to earn another point towards their promotion push.M
