In Tuesday's Football Daily...

Maxi Rodriguez scores a hat-trick as Liverpool turn on the style to power past Birmingham 5-0.

Fellow goalscorer Dirk Kuyt believes the convincing win proves that Liverpool can be title contenders next season.

Roberto Mancini was 'delighted' for Edin Dzeko as the Bosnian ended his goal drought to seal Manchester City three points against struggling Blackburn.

It was the first time the striker had scored in the league since his £27 million January move from Wolfsburg, and means City retain a strong position in the top four of the Barclays Premier League.

Similarly to Dzeko, Fernando Torres was able to answer his critics by opening his Chelsea account with the second goal in a 3-0 win against West Ham.

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has since stated that his side can defend their title this season.

However, Manchester United show no sign of letting up at the top of the table, and a late Javier Hernandez winner against Everton further reinforced their title credentials.

Meanwhile, Bolton seemingly put paid to Arsenal's pursuit of domestic glory with a 2-1 victory on Sunday at the Reebok Stadium.
