In Tuesday's Afternoon Report…

A dramatic weekend in the Barclays Premier League saw Arsenal beat Manchester United 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

The result leaves the title race wide open, with Chelsea just three points behind leaders United after beating Tottenham 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.

A brilliant strike from Sandro gave Spurs the lead, before controversial goals from Frank Lampard and Salomon Kalou secured a vital three points for the Blues.

Liverpool made the most of Tottenham's misfortune, with their 3-0 win over Newcastle seeing them leapfrog Spurs into fifth place.

Manchester City beat West Ham 2-1 to reinforce their claims for a Champions League spot, while the loss leaves the Hammers rooted to the bottom of the table.

Meanwhile, Blackburn boosted their survival hopes with an important 1-0 win over Bolton, with Wolves and Blackpool both playing out draws against Birmingham and Stoke respectively.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid face Barcelona tonight in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final clash.

Barca lead 2-0 after an ill-tempered first leg, with Jose Mourinho, Pepe and Sergio Ramos all subsequently banned for the trip to the Nou Camp.
