Aston Villa pair Emile Heskey and Richard Dunne are set to return to the fold for the visit of Wigan Athletic this weekend.
Heskey missed last weekend's defeat to West Bromwich Albion, while Dunne limped out of the contest at half-time after a dead leg.
But caretaker manager Gary McAllister has confirmed the duo have returned to training.
“Both Richard Dunne and Emile Heskey trained with the team today so they’re fine and better,” confirmed caretaker manager Gary McAllister.
Victory over 18th placed Wigan would open up a nine-point gap over the Latics, assuring the club survival in the top flight for another season.
