Liverpool legends Steve McManaman and Robbie Fowler are reportedly considering putting their football shirts on once more for a legendary star studded a friendly in Chechnya, according to the Daily Mail.
Diego Maradona would also feature in the game, which is set to be hosted by Terek Grozny as they take on a Russian side managed by Chechen president Ramzan Kadyrov.
The game will be packed to the rafters with legends, including Christian Vieri, Franco Baresi, Luis Figo, Fabien Barthez, Alessandro Costacurta, Jean-Pierre Papin, Roberto Ayala, Enzo Francescoli and Ivan Zamorano.
“Someone’s asked us to play but I’ve been away the last four or five days,” ex-Liverpool playmaker McManaman told talkSPORT.
“I spoke to Luis Figo and he’s playing in the game.
“I’m trying to find out as much info as possible before I decide whether to go – it’s being dealt with through an Argentinean company.”
If Fowler and McManaman, who are both legends at Liverpool, do come through and play in the match, Liverpool fans will no doubt be trying to watch the match so they can get a glimpse of God in action once more.
The game is scheduled to take place on May 11th, next Wednesday.
