Porto and Braga reach Europa final

Porto booked their place in the UEFA Europa League final against fellow Portuguese side Braga despite a valiant effort by Villarreal who triumphed 3-2 on the night at El Madrigal.

Goals by Cani, Joan Capdevila and a Giuseppe Rossi penalty guided the Spanish side to victory with Falcao and Hulk on target for the Portuguese, who held a 5-1 advantage from the first leg.

Falcao's goal saw him set a new UEFA Cup goalscoring record in a single season with his haul of 16 eclipsing Jurgen Klinsmann's efforts in 1995/96.

Braga secured their first ever appearance in a major European final with a nail-biting 1-0 victory over Portuguese rivals Benfica at Estadio AXA.

Castro Custodio's first-half header was sufficient to send Braga through on the away-goals rule as Vandinho's strike in the 2-1 first-leg defeat a week ago proved crucial.
