Arsene Wenger believes Aaron Ramsey and Cesc Fabregas have the attributes to form a formidable midfield partnership.
Ramsey will deputise for the Arsenal skipper against Stoke as the Spaniard struggles with an injury complaint, but has been tipped to thrive alongside his senior teammate in the future.
With Jack Wilshere added to the mix, Arsenal have arguably the most exciting midfield currently operating in the Barclays Premier League, which will bode well for the quest to end the silverware drought next season.
Inevitably, the relative inexperience of the young trio will be called into question, but Wenger thinks Ramsey and Fabregas will compliment each other in the middle of the park.
"Aaron is a great runner and has great timing to get into the box," said the Arsenal manager. "He is an efficient player and I think they are a good combination together - Cesc and him.”
Ramsey and Fabregas are likely to get more game time together at the beginning of next season after Wenger suggested he may rest Wilshere until September after the 19-year-old’s summer exploits with the England under 21s.
