Aston Villa winger Stewart Downing picked up a trio of trophies at the club's annual awards dinner.

The former Middlesbrough star has been a shining light for the Villains this season in what has proved to be a difficult season in the Barclays Premier League, but Downing has remained impressive and claimed the FxPro top star award, Players' Player of the Season and supporters' Player of the Season.

It was also a great night for Marc Albrighton, who scooped four prodigious prizes on a glamourous night at the Holte Suite, situated in Villa Park.

The supporters' young player of the year also shared the players' young player of the year with defender Ciaran Clark, as well as the club's Terrace Trophy which is voted for by members of Aston Villa's Lions Club network.

Albrighton also scooped the goal of the year award for his strike against Fulham, beating Emile Heskey's header against Wolves into second place.
