Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson is keen to build on the Black Cats' victory over Bolton Wanderers when they face Wolves this weekend.

The England midfielder helped his side towards their first away win in six as they overcame The Trotters - and now they have ambitions of a top half finish.

Henderson said he felt for the fans during their dismal run which has seen them win one of their last 11 matches, before the win over Bolton.

“We’ve been on a horrible run over the last few months and it has been as hard on the players as it has on the fans," he said.

“But two wins in our last three games has helped a bit and the win over Bolton was a bit special, winning it the way we did with just about the last kick of the game.

“It felt fantastic celebrating afterwards because I really felt we deserved the result.

“But already the lads were talking about the Wolves game because we don’t want the Bolton game just to be a one-off. We want to take what we got out of the Bolton game and take it into the Wolves game.

“Two wins out of three has made everyone feel a little bit better, but if we make it three out of four then the picture really starts to change again."
