Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric has urged his teammates to show their character ahead of this weekend's trip to Liverpool.
The crucial Barclays Premier League encounter could be pivotal in the race for fifth, and the last European qualification spot, after Spurs missed out on the final Champions League place.
The rejuvenated Reds have now leapfrogged Harry Redknapp's side in the table, sitting two points clear with two games remaining.
However, a win for Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday will see the two clubs switch places and force the final standings to be decided on the last day of the season.
"Liverpool are playing well, they are in excellent form and it will be another interesting game," said Luka.
"I hope we can produce the same performance as we did at City but this time with the right result.
"I'm looking forward to it. They are a great team and it will show what we are made of."
Having lost to Manchester City at Eastlands on Tuesday, Spurs' hopes of a return to the Champions League next season were officially ended, despite a good team performance.
And Modric insists there is still plenty of fighting spirit left in the Spurs squad, and that the players will be doing everything they can to ensure a positive result this weekend.
"We are out of the Champions League but we now need to fight for fifth place. We need to show our character.
"I think we can be happy with how we played (on Tuesday) and we need to keep it going."
