Reported Tottenham target Ruud van Nistelrooy is considering his future as he prepares to leave Hamburg.

The Dutch striker only signed an 18-month contract after swapping the Santiago Bernabeu for the Imtech Arena last year and is banking on a move away from Germany to revitalise his career.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are leading a whole host of clubs in the pursuit of the 34-year-old as Harry Redknapp looks to bring a proven goalscorer to White Hart Lane.

Not many players within the last decade have garnered a better goalscoring pedigree than Van Nistelrooy, who Spurs allegedly attempted to sign in January.

The former Manchester United hotshot has already put Spurs on red alert by claiming that a move back to England would be something that appeals to him.

"Spain would be great, but in the Premier League I have many good contacts," Van Nistelrooy told German newspaper Bild.

"I will be a free agent this summer, with concrete offers.

"I will sit down with the proposals and make a decision with my wife."

Tottenham have also been linked with United flop Diego Forlan and Athletic Bilbao target-man Fernando Llorente in their attempts to sign a world-class forward.
