Moyes: Seventh place 'like winning the Champions League'

David Moyes says finishing seventh would be quite an achievement for Everton, considering the way they started the season.

The Toffees take on West Brom at the Hawthorns on Saturday, hoping to avenge the 4-1 defeat last November which left Moyes' side languishing in 16th placed.

But, as always seems to happen, Everton have drastically improved since the turn of the year, and now need just a point tomorrow to secure seventh spot in the Barclays Premier League.

"In November or December I would have looked at seventh place as like winning the Champions League for me," said the Everton boss.

"We have kicked on, we should have never got ourselves in the situation we were in, but we did, and it was difficult earlier in the season.

"The players have rallied round, showed their true value and if we finish seventh then great,

"I never doubted our character, it was because of our quality that we didn't win."
