Lawrie Sanchez has been handed the manager's job at npower League Two side Barnet.

The former Northern Ireland and Fulham boss will be assisted by Giuliano Grazioli, who took temporary charge for the Bees' successful battle against the drop.

Sanchez moved to Underhill as a consultant for the final four games of the season and helped Grazioli pull of an unlikely escape with a final day 1-0 win over Port Vale.

Barnet chairman Tony Kleanthous told the club's official website: "I am absolutely delighted. We found the successful combination when we needed it and it is great that we are able to continue that next season.

"I believe that Lawrie, with Grazioli backing up, is the right man to lead us forward."

The 51-year-old began his management career at Sligo Rovers and once guided Wycombe to the FA Cup semi-finals.
